Date Calculator
Free to use. Runs in your browser: your files and text are not uploaded.
Find how long it is between two dates, or find the date a number of days before or after another.
How to use it
Days between two dates
- Choose the start date and the end date. Either order works.
- Read the results: total days, years-months-days, weeks, and weekdays.
Add or subtract days
- Choose “Add or subtract days”.
- Choose the start date and type the number of days. Use a minus sign, such as −30, to go backwards.
How the results are counted
- Days between is the end date minus the start date. From 1 January to 31 December 2024 is 365 days, because 2024 is a leap year with 366 days in total.
- Years, months, days counts whole years first, then whole months, then the days left over. From 31 January, one month later is taken as the last day of February.
- Weekdays counts Mondays to Fridays from the start date up to, but not including, the end date. Public holidays are not removed, because they differ by country.
Leap years
A year is a leap year if it divides by 4, except century years, which must divide by 400. So 2024 and 2000 were leap years, and 2100 will not be. The tool applies this rule automatically.
Limits
- Working days are counted as Monday to Friday. Countries with a different working week will need to adjust.
- The tool uses the Gregorian calendar for all dates. Dates before a country adopted it, which was 1582 in much of Europe and 1752 in Britain, will not match historical records.
- Times of day are ignored. Each date is treated as a whole day.
Frequently asked questions
How do I count the days between two dates?
Choose a start date and an end date. The tool shows the number of days between them, and the same span in weeks and in years, months and days.
Is the end date included in the count?
No. The count is the number of days from the start date to the end date. Monday to Friday of the same week is 4 days. Add 1 if you need to include both days.
What date is 90 days from today?
Choose Add or subtract days, leave the start date as today, and type 90. The result shows the date and the day of the week.
