Time Zone Converter
Free to use. Runs in your browser: your files and text are not uploaded.
Choose a date and time in one place and see what time that is somewhere else. Useful for planning calls and meetings across countries.
How to use it
- Set the date and time. It starts as the time now.
- Choose the time zone that time is in. It starts as your own.
- Choose the time zone to convert to.
The results show the time in both places, the difference between them, and each zone’s offset from UTC on that date.
Worked example
A meeting at 9:00 AM in New York on 13 October 2026:
- New York is on daylight saving time then, at UTC−4
- India is at UTC+5:30 all year
- The difference is 9 hours 30 minutes
- In India the meeting is at 6:30 PM the same day
Why the date matters
The gap between two places is not fixed. Places that use daylight saving time move their clocks forward in spring and back in autumn, and they do it on different dates:
- The United States changes on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November.
- The European Union and the United Kingdom change on the last Sunday of March and the last Sunday of October.
- Australia and New Zealand, in the southern hemisphere, change in the opposite direction.
- India, China, Japan and most of Africa and Asia do not change at all.
So the New York to London gap is normally 5 hours, but 4 hours for a few weeks each March and October.
Half-hour and other offsets
Not every zone is a whole number of hours from UTC. India is UTC+5:30, Nepal is UTC+5:45, and parts of Australia are UTC+9:30.
Limits
- The list covers 34 major zones, not every one in the world. Choose a city in the same zone as the place you need.
- Rules for future dates are the ones known today. Governments sometimes change daylight saving rules at short notice.
- During the hour that is skipped or repeated when clocks change, a local time can be ambiguous. The tool picks one valid reading.
