How to use it

  1. Type your details in From and your customer’s in Bill to.
  2. Set the invoice number, dates and currency symbol.
  3. List the items, one per line, in this form: description | quantity | price each.
  4. Add a tax percentage or a discount amount if you need them.
  5. Press Print or save as PDF.

How the total is worked out

  • Each line’s amount = quantity × price
  • Subtotal = the sum of the line amounts
  • Tax = (subtotal − discount) × tax %
  • Total = subtotal − discount + tax

Example: three lines of 1,200, 150 and 4 × 60 = 240 give a subtotal of 1,590. With a discount of 90 and tax at 10%, tax is (1,590 − 90) × 10% = 150, and the total is 1,590 − 90 + 150 = 1,650.

Good invoicing habits

  • Number invoices in order and never reuse a number. It makes payments easy to match and is a legal requirement in many countries.
  • State the due date clearly. “Due 30 November 2026” is harder to misread than “Net 30”.
  • Say how to pay. Put bank details or a payment link in the notes.
  • Keep a copy of every invoice you send. Tax authorities commonly require records to be kept for several years.

Limits

  • Tax is a single percentage applied to the whole invoice. Different rates per item are not supported.
  • Tax invoices have legal requirements that differ by country, such as a GST or VAT registration number and a breakdown by tax rate. Check what your tax authority requires and add those details to the From box or the notes.
  • There is no logo upload.
  • The tool does not send invoices, track payments or keep records.

Frequently asked questions

How do I save the invoice as a PDF?

Press Print or save as PDF. In the print window, choose Save as PDF (or Microsoft Print to PDF) as the printer, then save. Only the invoice is printed, with no date, web address or page number added by the browser.

Is my invoice stored anywhere?

No. The invoice is built in your browser and is not sent to us. It is also not saved between visits, so save the PDF before you leave the page.

What must an invoice include?

Usually your name and address, the customer's name and address, a unique invoice number, the date, a description of what was supplied, the amounts, and the total due. Tax-registered businesses must add further details set by their country's tax authority.
